Wednesday, February 23, 2005 We will be holding further auditions next week at the same time, same place. The audition sides are available here to download. We found that in the last audition, actors didn't quite understand the dynamic in the scene. Please understand that Marcello is not Sophie's brother but his girlfriend and that Marcello and Claudia are not married. Marcello and Claudia are pretending to be married in order to get free drinks from the bartender who believes Marcello is going to fight in Iraq. Andy.
Tuesday,
February 22, 2005 We're having auditions for the lead roles in Mind the Gap tomorrow from 5.30 at the Waterloo campus. I haven't mentioned it previously because the majority has ever expressed a huge desire to act. However, that was probably a bit remiss of me - sorry. I'll give you more details in the meeting, and if you do want to audition then please do. If you don't want to audition yourself, but want to see what's going on, then it would mean a great deal if you could help out with the organisation. I realise this is quite short notice, but it's not going to be a huge task - just getting people into groups and telling them where to go. Sorry again for my unintentional neglect, Cassie.
Auditions for ‘Mind The Gap’
A KCL Filmmakers
Production
Who can you really trust? The ‘Mind The Gap’ Production Team will be holding auditions for the following three leading roles…
Location: Waterloo Campus (KCL) The Franklin-Wilkins Building, Stamford St, London, SE1 9NH Floor 1 Room 60 Date: Wednesday 23rd February 2005 Time: 5.30 pmIf you would like further information about the film, please e-mail us at: kclfilmmakerssoc@hotmail.com (Find attached to this e-mail the flyer advertising the auditions, as well as the audition sides - this dialogue should be used as preparation for auditions.)Wednesday, January 19, 2005 Hi guys, As I mentioned at the meeting we have a big new production in line for this semester, which is HUGE, much, much bigger than 'Insect Legs' and something that has real commercial potential. It's called 'Mind the Gap' and is to be directed by a guy who's at Kings studying Law, but who has already graduated from film school in L.A. and really knows what he's doing In fact he's currently taking a year off to promote his last film and enter it into film festivals.. Basically, it's going to be a very professional film because he has extremely good equipment. I'm going to be writing the script and producing. However, the job of producer is far too big for one person to do alone, because as I said we're doing this professionally. Thus, I need a co-producer who is going to be a 100% committed to the project, as it will take up a lot of time, but will be totally worth it. It turns out that it's going to be approx 80mins in length, which is way longer than I thought, but having spoken to Ab (the director) I think it can be done. The key to it working, though, is organisation, which is where the producers come in. Ab estimates that he can shoot it in 5 weeks and then he's going to L.A to edit it. Most of the shooting will probably take place on weekends because that's when everybody will be free. We're intending to get sponsorship from Orange because of product placement in the film: in return for their product in our film we want them to pay for all the promotion of the movie. The plan then is to release and sell it at freshers' fair. We'll definitely be taking it to the festivals. Most of the pre-production will involve securing locations and co-ordinating the sponsorship. Please let me know asap if you want to work on this as we are starting it now. It will take up a lot of your time for a while but it will be very, very fruitful. This is a real learning experience that is going to be excellent to have on your c.v. However, I still want people to have the opportunity to work on their own projects too, but if so then you will be 100% responsible for organising it ie. casting, locations etc. Hopefully, Ab will be at the meeting next week and we can talk through it more. Look forward to hearing from you, Cassie. Wednesday,
